چکیده
Characterizing spatiotemporal patterns of snowfall is essential for understanding cryosphere responses to warming climate stress. The changes in and topographic controls mountain regions still need be clarified. This study proposes a general parsimonious methodology obtain the frequency mountainous areas. employed easily transferable any other region. Utilizing daily MODIS observations from June 2000 May 2020 event detection algorithm, we monitored long time series Kaidu river basin. results are as follows: (1) method detecting has high accuracy. annual detected agreed with surface observations, an R2 0.65 RMSE 3.39. (2) events increased monotonically elevation. influence slope angle on gradually decreased increasing (3) basin was dominated by trend. trends showed pronounced dependence. reveals distribution characteristics changing regions. provide reference research

Characterizing the Pixel Footprint of Satellite Albedo Products Derived from MODIS Reflectance in the Heihe River Basin, China
The adjacency effect and non-uniform responses complicate the precise delimitation of the surface support of remote sensing data and their derived products. Thus, modeling spatial response characteristics (SRCs) prior to using remote sensing information has become important. A point spread function (PSF) is typically used to describe the SRCs of the observation cells from remote sensors and is ...
متن کاملClimate change projection of snowfall in the Colorado River Basin using dynamical downscaling
[1] Recent observations show a decrease in the fraction of precipitation falling as snowfall in the western United States. In this work we evaluate a historical and future climate simulation over the Colorado River Basin using a 35 km continuous 111 year simulation (1969–2079) of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) regional climate model with boundary forcing from the Hadley Centre for C...
متن کاملApplication of Modis 250m Images without in Situ Observations for Mapping Mekong River Basin Land Cover
Mekong River runs from Hengduan Mountains in central-west China to Vietnam covering 805,604 sq km of land by its basin. The Lower Mekong Basin (LMB), the region mapped in this study, covers nearly 3/4 of the entire basin. About 90% of the population and agricultural activities of the Mekong River basin is located in this fertile LMB which faces disastrous floods almost annually. Mapping LMB at ...
متن کاملApplication of the Snowmelt Runoff model in the Kuban river basin using MODIS satellite images
This paper analyses an opportunity to integrate remote sensing data in a forecasting scheme of river inflow to the Krasnodar reservoir. MODIS MOD10A2 eight-day composite snow cover data was selected as the basic remote sensing information. Based on these data, a database which consists of maximal snow extent maps covering the Kuban river basin over the period from March 2000 to the present, alo...
متن کاملMapping Flooded Rice Paddies Using Time Series of MODIS Imagery in the Krishna River Basin, India
Rice is one of the major crops cultivated predominantly in flooded paddies, thus a large amount of water is consumed during its growing season. Accurate paddy rice maps are therefore important inputs for improved estimates of actual evapotranspiration in the agricultural landscape. The main objective of this study was to obtain flooded paddy rice maps using multi-temporal images of Moderate Res...
